Hey there! Can you do an epic narrator voice for a science video? Wanna make thirty bucks?
Project Description: I'm currently working at the Science Center at Brown University, and we're putting together a video that's essentially the geological history of one of the Science Center's rocks, but in an animated story that can engage people. We currently have a team of three people working on the animation, but we need a really cool sounding narrator that can make the very scientific text sound engaging and interesting.
Voice Description: For the narrator's voice, I was envisioning something you may hear on the discovery channel. Epic and deep, as if the story is amazing and fantastic. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1kTIZeq1Ck
Then again, you may want to try to take a more casual approach on the voice, and sound like Bill Nye. Not exactly epic, but sounding like you know what you're talking about, and it's interesting. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQPFoDkGFrU
However, what we need for the voice actor is not set in stone. Both male and female voice actors qualify. Feel completely free to put your own unique spin on the voice, and play around with it. One of my co-workers even suggested trying our a British accent to sound sophisticated and intelligent. You can audition as many times as you want with different voices you think may be interesting enough. Remember, we want to engage people and make something that will catch peoples' attention, and a good narrator is essential for that.
Audition Lines: Every rock has a story to tell. No matter what kind of rock, or where you find it, it preserves evidence of its history. And we can learn to decipher that history.
The muddy sediment carried by the rivers slowly settled out in the quiet water beyond the waves. Over hundreds of thousands of years, more mud was deposited every year, gradually accumulating to form a thick layer.
About 200 million years ago, there was a reversal of plate spreading directions, which caused the supercontinent of Pangea to rift apart, and the present Atlantic Ocean began to open. The rifting created valleys like the African rift valleys of today, and dinosaurs left their footprints in the mud along lake shores in present day Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Terms & Conditions: Send your auditions to: shippauditions@yahoo.com Accepted Formats: mp3, wav, or wma Send your lines directly to the email address or upload to mediafire.com and share the link with me
If we like what we hear from you, we'll mail you back and send you the full script. This is a one-time voicing role. However, because this is a work in progress, the script is subject to change, and we will expect you to re-voice any parts of the script that get re-written, or any of your voice samples that we need you to re-voice. Payment for this project ($30) will be sent through PayPal after the project is completed. Please notify me if you need to be sent a check instead. Feel free to send me any questions of inquiries on this thread, or to just email them to the address listed above.

I may be an amateur voice actress, but I'm getting better with my voice range.

I have a speech impairment, so if it acts up, just ask me for a retake and to slow down.
My current role is Angel, the main character from a book scheduled to be released in a few months. |
