 VAC Prayer Thread
« Thread Started on Aug 11, 2008, 11:06pm »

Hey guys. I've noticed a lot of threads being posted lately about different deaths. There have been the famous ones and the ones that weren't celebrities, but who were close to us. They make me think of the people I have lost and how much it meant when someone said they were praying for me.

It doesn't matter if you are religious or spiritual at all, this is for anyone who wants the people of the VAC to say a prayer, receive some comfort, or keep them in our thoughts.

You can post stories that have happened to you or someone you care about recently or you can just say "Hey, would you just say a little prayer for my dad." It doesn't matter how much you tell us. However much you feel comfortable with.

I hope that this will at least provide some comfort.

A prayer for those who are mourning over the recent dead:
Lord, king of kings I pray to you this day to watch over our friends in need, and to friends of theirs that need comforting themselves. I pray this day that you keep a watchful eye on those that have ascended to your kingdom of heaven. May they live the rest of eternity in grace under you my lord. May you give more happy days to those who are in need of your guidance my lord. May you watch over our earth and bring peace to our minds to help with coping with everyday life. Your will be done, and they all said in his name, Amen.

I pray that my dog gets better soon. I've had him for 8 years now and I don't want to say bye to him yet. I don't know what I'd do if I lose him now.

This is a lovely idea.

Right now I am keeping my friend and her mother in my prayers as they are struggling with some very scary health issues.

I'm am not religious, I'm not anti religious per say, but i find most religions silly. But I kinda know how people are feeling, at least some of them. A few years ago my grandma and grandpa both died withing the same month. It was very hard especially since i was going through the hight of my clinical depresion at the time. It really made me question things like life and what it means after you die, and of course pondering the fact that everybody dies. I am now deturmined to become immortal

OMG I LOVE YOU WOLFWINGS! This is the best thread idea I've seen in such a long time.

E-HUG! =3

Could everybody like, just think happy thoughts for my mom? Her knee recently got arthritis and she totally blew it out. She in crutches right now. The doctor says if it gets any worse she'll have to start using a wheel chair (which will totally suck!)

I'm praying for a good friend of mine. She is pregnant with twins and she is currently in the process of giving birth right now. I pray that she survives giving birth to the twins.

Well, while I don't have a lot available, I can share one that means a lot to me that I wrote. Maybe it'll help somebody out. I know it's posting in the wrong section, and more than likely to be viewed as a shameless plug, but it's more a prayer than a poem. It's a prayer for the children, and considering that they're our future, it fits here. Also, I posted the link because I'm a but rushed for time, and I don't want to risk infringing my own copyright.

Also, this thread is a great idea, Wolfwings. And it outlines something important for all religions: prayer is a common factor. It doesn't matter if you're a Christian, Jew, or even if you're an atheist, it helps to make you feel better if you know that someone's keeping you in their prayers. It makes the whole world seem a bit brighter and more cheery than usual. That's why prayer is so powerful and good.

Hmm...I dunno...
Maybe for my humanity. That it doesn't fade, that I don't lose it. That it gets stronger. Recently, I've felt pretty filthy...
