The cover art for the series, this is also how it will be animated.

Epexsus is a internet-based flash cartoon series created and animated by me, Dylan Simpson since 2009. The first episode made it's debut on YouTube on August 11th, 2012 and then the flash version on Newgrounds on August 17th. Episode 2 is currently in the works and will make it's release some time in 2013.

Setting/Backstory:

The setting of the series is based on the distant earth-like planet of Epexsus, where war between humans has devastated the planet and it's human population. The remaining people of the world made "tribes" for themselves to keep peace and order among each other. Small warfare still goes on between tribes for all sorts of various reasons, but it's not as severe as the "Great War" the main world-wide war that happened over 400 years ago that diminished the humans into a few. The humans have repopulated only a small portion of what they were before. The world of Epexsus is full of natural wonders, wacky creatures, and some messed up individuals who will do anything for power. In a corrupt world completely torn apart by war, how long will YOU last?

Main Story:

The main story is about a mysterious man in a mask with the alias "Scar" found Makota, a tribal hunter boy, but for currently unknown reasons, Scar tracked Makota down to his village, the Akimura Tribe, in an attempt to kill Makota and damage his tribe. Makota later finds out that Scar was mixed into his life way more than he thought. What could Scar possibly want? Is this all coincidence of a mad man? Or is it something much more sinister? Only one way to find out!

Casting Calls:

Please note that this is a SERIES, and by auditioning your agreeing to voice act any further episodes. Also keep in mind that I am busy with life as well, and that this series could take a long time to get all the way through the 11 episodes that I've planned. So, If you're auditioning and you get the part, just know I'm expecting you to stay with me til' the end!

[CLOSED] [Main Character] Makota - Bryson Baugus

Makota is the 13-year-old protagonist of the series, who is fun-loving, ambitious and super agile. He's the best hunter of his village, and he's characterized as a happy, affectionate, and a common-sense lacking boy who's often prone to diving head-first into situations without thinking things through. He likes hunting and playing with animals, even if they're deadly and vicious. Makota has fallen victim to many tragedies that has made the process of growing up hard, but even then, he stays optimistic about most of tribal life's hard situations. Makota tries his hardest to be independent and is confident in any given situation that he can take care of himself, although its obvious there are some things he just can't handle on his own, he refuses to give up or submit, sometimes costing him greatly. Although being a 13 year old boy in this war-torn world has its bearings, Makota is battle-hardened inside and out, or at least thats what he believes with his inner arrogance that he doesn't usually show. Either way, Makota knows how to put up a fight and can pack a serious punch with his superior agility skills, fast reflexes and ability to use his spearbow to it's full extent.

[CLOSED] [Main Character] Ken - Nick Louie

Ken is Makota's brother. He is 16 years old, lazy, smart and very often sarcastic and mean. He doesn't often show his true feelings, and also doesn't like admitting that he's wrong, and will do anything to avoid it. His combat skills are not very good, but he can put up a fight, especially when it comes to protecting his girlfriend Anna.
Most of the time Ken is pretty unreliable, and often gets into work-related disputes with the village chief because he'd rather sit around and relax instead of doing his tribal duties. But occasionally, he'll come through when it really matters.

[CLOSED] [Main Character] Anna - Natalie Van Sistine

Anna is Ken's girlfriend, they've been best friends since they were very young children and now they're in a relationship, although nobody really knows what she sees in him. Anna is a very sweet, caring and kind 16 year old girl. The majority of her life has been pretty easy-going, other than the fact she never really knew her father, but that's about the end of her drama.
She looks out for Ken and his brother Makota, and her biggest fear is basically them getting seriously hurt. She accompanies them on their endeavors and tries to be the mother that they don't have. Anna's not the greatest when it comes to book smarts like Ken, but she definitely has the most common sense out of the group.

Renton is a manipulative, overly-competitive and arrogant 14 year old boy, he is a hunter just like Makota. Renton always has to be in first place and the leader of the pack. He is spoiled by his parents always getting him anything he desires. Renton seems to have problems following rules and will find any chance he can to break them, if it means winning, he'll do what ever it takes.

Renton's first real friend was Makota, who he surprisingly only met a year back, however despite Renton's personality and past experiences trying to make friends, he really treasures his friendship with Makota and tries his best to be a good friend who cares. However his intentions are sometimes very questionable.

The chief of the Akimura Tribe, a caring but fierce 40 year old man, short-tempered and yells a lot
