'Broken' Auditions - SSBB machinima [CLOSED]

Evening everyone, I'm in search of some VAs for my newly started machinima, 'Broken'.

'Broken' is not the typical machinima as it's presented more in a style similar to Disgaea or Blazblue's story mode.

The story of 'Broken' starts out with East, a drifter had done nothing but wander for years until he received a letter from an old flame. Deciding to act upon the letter, East travels back to the city of Break, a place he had left behind years ago. However, not everything is as simple as it appears.

That brings me back to the auditions. I'm in need of voices for several important/recurring characters.

They are listed below in order of priority. While there is a description to how the character may sound, I left it open for interpretation so that those who audition could each have their own take of how they think the character would sound.

How to Audition:
Do the required lines for the character(s) you want to audition for
Save in commonly used format (.wav, .mp3, etc...)

Be sure to title the email so I know it's an audition and not junk mail.

Deadline was April 13th
The results should be up by the 17th or 18th

Available Roles:

Narrator
In the unspoken text, there will be a narrator from Episode 2 onward to provide better pacing.

Voice: I would like a male voice, something you'd typically expect from a narrator. A medium or deep voice is fine.

Audition Lines:
"As he entered the city, East grimaced as he felt nostalgia creeping up on him. He had left the city of Break years ago, coming back now after so long felt strange yet comforting. Shaking his head, he stepped into an alley, alleys weren't nostalgic. However, he stumbled upon something shady..."
"As he pondered to himself, the faint patter of footsteps caught his ear. He ignored it, until it got closer and closer before stopping right before him. He opened his eyes, glancing up and seeing an aggravatingly familiar face."

Major Characters

Name: Cassidy Age: 24

Considered the best gunslinger in the world, Cassidy is looked up to by many gun-lovers everywhere. She ignores the praise and continues living her life, avoiding the eyes of her admirers as much as possible. To add to her secrecy, she works with a mysterious group under a man known as ‘Fantom’. Sent off on an important mission, Cassidy travels to Break in order to infiltrate the Song Building and acquire some ‘valuable items’.

Voice: Cassidy treats most things as 'strictly business' and therefore carries a serious tone in her voice. However, she does let confidence get the better of her at times.

Audition Lines:
(Challenging) "Just how sure are you? You think you can stop a bullet?"
(Serious, threatening) "I don't miss, so don't test me unless you're intent on getting shot."
(Solemn) "I didn't ask for this 'ability', but if I want to survive, I have to use it."

Name: Dr. Mercy Age: 28

Mercy is a scientist that specializes in cybernetic and robotic areas. She created Unnamed and Random to serve as a security force for the Song Building. She is a good friend of Julia Song's, growing up to admire her scientific discoveries. While the authorities are stumped over Julia's disappearance, Mercy remains strong with resolve to find her missing friend.

Voice: Mercy lives for using her robotic and cybernetic prowess to better the lives of those in need. She loves life and helping others, but sometimes can't help but 'geeking out' when introduced to machinery that strikes her interest.

Audition Lines:
(Giving commands) "Unnamed, fall back for now, your reserve compartment was ruptured. It needs to be repaired or it could cause permanent damage!"
(Talking to Random, a robot) "I wish I could understand you, Random, but your voice chip isn't finished yet. I just need some more time, okay?"
(Enthusiastic, geeking out) "That gun, are those... custom enhancements? May I see? Ah, the barrel's been reinforced, there's even a tazer modification! A wonderful piece of technology!"

Name: Blues Age: 36

Blues once lived a happy life with her only child in Break, but that all changed one abrupt day. Her child was struck by a car and killed, leaving her with nothing but grief. Never truly able to cope with her loss, Blues developed post-traumatic stress disorder and secluded herself from the world. However, even in her seclusion, she was overcome with grief until her world was warped permanently. Believing she could go back to the way things were before her loss, she began abducting children to replace her late child. A doomed cause from the start, Blues’ disorder would cause her to lash out in psychotic outbursts which would result in her killing her ‘child’ in her inconsolable rage. She continues to repeat this vicious cycle to this day...

Voice: Blues is like a phantom with a soft, gentle, inviting voice. However, due to her mental state, she is likely to snap into psychotic outbursts. When enraged, she becomes like a demon that only knows bloodshed.

Audition Lines:
(Soothing, haunting) "I've been watching you for some time now. You don't have to be alone anymore..."
(Calm, gradually more distressed, ready to snap) "It's okay, it wasn't my fault. He's only taking a nap from which he'll never wake up. I'll just start over... I'll do it right this time..."
(Breaking down into madness) "No... No no... No no no! You weren't supposed to die, I thought you were different! You're nothing, a pile of lies, trash! Trash!! NOTHING BUT TRASH!!!"

Name: Ragtime Age: 42

If there's word on the street, Ragtime knows it. He leads an information network the spans the entire city of Break but isn't affected by the government's censorship. Aside from his network, he leads a number of people that live on the streets. He considers them his family and will go to great lengths to make sure that they are all safe. However, he tends to try to solve things with words, but for those who just won't listen, they are met with the wrath of a father.

Voice: Ragtime has been around a number of years, experiencing the city of Break go through its ups and downs. He is a caring man that prefers peace over war, but won't hesitate to defend his family.

Audition Lines:
(Quiet and calm) "It's good to see you're safe, Emerald, I was worried when you went off on your own."
(Relaxed, amused) "You underestimate word of mouth, good sir. If the timing's right, news reaches my ears in a matter of hours. We're a lot more flexible than what your buddy 'Hazard' has to work with."
(Pondering, serious) "So that "Howler Gang' gave you some trouble, did they? Well, I guess if they won't listen to reason then I'll have to take care of it the uncivilized way..."

Name: Julia Song Age: 40

Julia is the head of the 'Song Project' as well as the loved one East left behind years ago. Under her guidance, the 'Song Project' had successfully alternated human genes dramatically as well as created humans. A month prior to the beginning of 'Broken', Julia suddenly went missing. No one has been able to find her, but days ago, East received a letter from her, driving him to return to Break to find her.

Voice: Julia is a kind soul, she works on researching genetics to cure illness and overall improve life. She values life above everything.

Audition Lines:
(Narrating a letter written by herself) "Dear East,
It's been so long since we last saw each other, hasn't it? I've been so busy over these past years, I couldn't even say goodbye before you vanished from my life. Do you still wear the scarf I gave you? I hope you keep it in a safe place, at least. I've been wanting to talk to you, for so long... Please come back, I want to see you. You still remember where our special place is, right? I'll be waiting...
--Julia"

Minor Characters

Name: Gregory Age: 37

Gregory is a priest at the Church in Break. He is typically the one to tend to the confessional booth, but on certain nights, he is nowhere to found in the Church. On those nights, he stalks the streets, hunting down otherworldly devils before they can harm innocent people. The eye-patch he wears over left eye is actually to a cross burned onto his face, this cross keeps a devil trapped inside him and prevents it from possessing his body. However, it doesn't work every time...

Voice: Gregory has a deep yet gentle voice, bringing those in conflict to ease with his reassuring words. Of course, he doesn't show the same kind of gentleness to his adversaries.

Auditions Lines:
"Even if they conflict with my own, I respect your views. I am here to listen to the troubles for whoever steps into this confessional, so please don't hesitate to come back again."
(Reassuring) "It's not my business to pry, all I do is listen. If you have something to hide, it's safe from me."

Name: Medley Age: 23

A human-deman hybrid, Medley spends her days sailing the seas aboard her ship with her trusty crew. Being a fearsome pirate captain, she can't resist the allure of treasure and wealth, robbing ships and towns blind without a second thought. However, because of her greed, she has been afflicted with a curse that slowly turns her body into wood. Soon she'll be nothing more then a large piece of greed-filled driftwood.

Voice: Medley is over-the-top and theatrical, making her presence known wherever she goes. If she succumbs to her curse before she finds a cure, she wants the world to remember the terror she brought to their hearts.

Audition Lines:
(Announcing) "Ladies and gentlemen, consider yourselves lucky! Today, you are being graced by the presence of the Terror of the Seas, the Medley Pirates!"
(Disgusted) "Ugh, you smell like crap! It's called a shower, you should take one!"
(Overjoyed and confident) "(over-the-top triumphant laugh) Look at this haul, enough gold and loot to last weeks! But that would be too boring, let's blow it all in one night, boys!"

Name: Line Age: 17

Line is the first mate of the Medley Pirates and the Captain's right-hand. She is usually seen following Medley everywhere. She hates Beck for being so lax and forgiving.

Voice: Line is very demanding and irritable, almost as loud as her captain. She gets upset easily and is quick to punish anybody who steps out of line. Although she is very cranky, she often changes faces when talking to Medley, constantly praising her and practically worshiping her.

Audition Lines:
(Fawning over Medley) "Wow Captain Medley, you're so amazing! There's not a single person that could ever stand up to you!"
(Annoyed, angry at Beck) "Beck, you're too easy on them, show some back-bone! Punish them! Make them fear you! Show them who's the one in control!"

Beck
Name: Beck (Pronounced Beh-k) Age: 17 Gender: Male

Beck is another trusted member of the Medley Pirates, if Line is the right-hand then Beck is the left. Like Line, Beck is usually seen with Medley as well. He doesn't like Line for being so strict and unforgiving.

Voice: Beck is a chill and level-headed guy, not nearly as loud as his captain. Though he is a relaxed guy, he tends to get into arguments with Line over their methods of dealing with the rest of the crew.

Auditions Lines:
(Relaxed and reassuring) "Well, nobody got hurt, so everything's fine. Don't worry about Line, I won't let her kill you or anything."
(Annoyed, arguing with Line) "Oh please, I'm not going to be a tyrant like you, Line. Our crew are people too and therefore deserve to be treated as such. Unlike you, I have experience in the art of kindness."
