 Guidelines For Reviewing Productions
« Thread Started on Dec 15, 2005, 2:34am »

We strongly encourage members to review the productions posted by others. However, please keep your criticism constructive. This doesn't mean you need to sugarcoat your comments or hold back an honest opinion, but you can be honest without being rude or hurtful.

Example of an acceptable review:
"(insert VA name here), I think you could have used more emotion for your character, as it didn't quite seem like you were putting your full energy into his voice."

Example of an unacceptable review:
"Man that sucked. Your voice was so annoying and didn't fit the character at all. Please do the rest of us a favor and never voice act again."

So far there hasn't been much of a problem with this - let's keep it that way. :)

No, there was nothing wrong with your comments. This is just something for everyone in general - I'm signed up at another site called YouTube where people, not being voice actors themselves, have a habit of giving nasty reviews. I don't think we've had a problem on this site so far but it's always good to have it here just in case, especially seeing as lots of people from Newgrounds migrate over where "u suck!! im blamming this!!" is a typical style of commenting.

If that's the case, there should be no need for concern. I can't think of a single member on this forum who is immature and disrespectful to other members while commenting on projects.

Agreed, but it's always good to give notice just in case.

It doesn't have to be a "good review" as in only saying positive things; I'm just encouraging everyone to be polite with the negative ones. There are flaws in basically every production and it can be helpful to point them out so long as you are respectful about it.
