actor needed for radio play - Echo Of You
« Thread Started on Sept 27, 2011, 1:02am »

Hello. My name is Kat. I'm a 2nd year radio student at RMIT and I'm looking for a voice actor to star in an audio arts assignment that is due on October 28th. The actor will be required to read a poem written by James WF Roberts entitled Echo Of You. We are seeking a male voice, preferably deep and melodic who is able to emote the tones appropriate to the dramatic nature of the poem. If you are interested in being a part of the project then please get back to me ASAP at kat.mahina@gmail.com

Being an impoverished student I cannot afford to pay you for your time, however you will receive acting credits and the piece will most likely be aired on RRR during the RMIT program Room With A View. Can probably throw a few thank you beverages your way as well. The poem has been included below. Your help will be very much appreciated.

Echo Of you
James wf Roberts

i feel it again
your lingering scent
flooding thru the room

lips trembling at the thought
of that warmth that awoke
so much inside
a cold shallow stone

on the pavement I see your shadow,
your reflection in every shop window
your face in every drink i have

your imprint on the bed
your body covered in red—

where have you gone?

i scream in the depths of night
when I dream
when I came home late
no noise.
no TV
no freshly brewed coffee.
the house a mess—
worse than usual
just silence—
that i can never forget

masked man
laughing
pointing at me
as he jumped out the window
your last gargling breath

i held you in my shaking arms—the knife on the bed.

red. red everywhere.
they never tell you about the red—
the stains that just don’t leave.
the flashing lights
those stupid questions.
repeated over again
those looks of suspicion.
friends. families. strangers alike
never quite trusting; nor believing from then.
All this happens in this dark and haunted room
As I close my eyes and smile now,
At the echo of you
