My recent thread started as a deadline of 4/17 (when I made it on the 14th) but when I got no e-mails by the 16th I got nervous I wouldn't get any at all by the cutoff of the 17th so I extended it to the 23rd, then got e-mails and sent scripts out too early. I apologize...I'll learn to stick to my first chosen one no matter what for future threads.

You can extend deadlines. That is fine. If you don't find what you are looking for, or if you don't get enough replies it is okay to Extend it. What this is explaining is that if you set a deadline, hold off judging auditions until the deadline period has ended.

That'ssss..... not how locking threads work. Threads are locked when the discussion has died out/there was nothing to discuss because the first post was a soapbox, gone out of control or the thread was a spam thread in the first place and the post is being kept for evidence.
