Old DDEM Audition Thread

Series Name: Dumbassed Dimensions (Working Title)

Created by: Joseph W. Pierce III

Initial Episode Plan : 2 sessions x 11/14 episodes x 2/4/6 minutes.

Animation Format: Limited Animation With bits of exaggeration. Possible Fight sequences.
.
Other Info: Comedic genre, Language, Mild sexual themes and Mild Violence

Premise: It's Your typical show where people hang out, swear alot, and find random things to be funny. BUT WAIT, There's also interdementional Traveling, Talking tacos that throw up color, and EVIL CANDY! When an Experimentation of Dr. Flughner's goes wrong, The house and everyone/thing in it is taken to another dimension. Once in this new dimension, Dan and Joe attempt to..... sit around....

(I'll provide a bit more information once I have VA's)

Deadline is November 20th

I would give more time, but I was expecting to start very soon, but just recently, i had issues with my previous 2 voice actors soon after I emailed Kagome about the Role of Tasha. So, I'm going to need a whole new team entirely, but I'd still like to start soon-ish.

Note: I'll need voice actors for future characters (Not minor characters either.) I have alot planned, so I'll make separate Topics for them when the time comes.

-Cast List-

MAJOR CHARACTERS

Note: Forgive me if a few of the lines seem... Lack Luster, but they don't exactly "work" out of context.

-Joseph Pierce- Uncasted

Age: 18/19

Bio: Possibly the only person on the face of any planet that can both hate everything and still be laid back. Joe can be set off very easily when in the presence of stupid people. He'll tend to pick out the flaws in someone or something and get condescending without meaning too. When not aggravated, he's rather mellow and enjoys an involving conversation, though when around his friend Dan, he seems to loose his mind and get (for lack of a better word) Zany.

Voice: Try to go with a deep voice, but not tooooooo deep, with a bit of a rasp.


-Audition Lines-
-It's not like anyone has seen it, other than you, me, and the fat guy.
-SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN HERE, ALWAYS!! IT HASN'T BEEN ANY DIFFERENT AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO QUESTION IT!

-Daniel Clausen- Taken (By vegetonng)

Age: 18/19

Bio: He tends act in a bit of a (For lack of a better word) Zany fashion most of the time, and doesn't seem to have any idea of what is appropriate. When found in a serious situation (such as a wedding, funeral, ect.) he'll most likely end up ruining it in any way he can. he tends to get away with doing stupid things, mainly because no one wants to deal with him. He's been friends with Dr. Flughner for an unknown amount of time, and happens to be one of the most perverted people you'll ever meet, though, he rarely lets that fact slip out.

Voice: Not exactally anything special, mid-pitched

-Audition Lines-
-You guys are over-reacting.. I'm going to go make some CO-COA!!
-NO YOU FOOL, THAT'S THE GENERIC SELF-DESTRUCT BUTTON.

-Doctor Crazy D. Flughner- Uncasted

Age: 50ish (Irrelevant)

Bio: He's the crazy old man that lives in the basement of Joe and Dan's house. He's been friends with Dan for an unknown amount of time, and tends to forget simple things alot. He's really brilliant and has the potential to invent amazing things (though alot of them have various problems with them) and has a bit of a fascination with the concept of Time travel. Though that may be the case, without his medication he ends up loosing his hold on reality and develops various other personalities, sees hallucinations, as well as a slew of other things.

Voice: I'm not exactly sure for Dr. Anyone who auditions for Him should experiment with various different voices (Go with a stereo-typical impersonation of an old man, add slurs, do whatever) If I get something that sounds good, I'll probably go with that.

-Audition lines-
-I was wondering if I could perform my latest experiment in your basement.. FOR NO REASON!
-Them crazy crazy farmers.. been telling me 'bout dem' evil trees.... BLOODY BRANCHES AS FAR AS THE EYES CAN SEE!! OH GOD!! They work for Ron Jeremy you know.... oh, You know...

-Tasha- Uncasted

NOTE: I've already emailed Kagome about this part, prior to loosing Faith in my current actors. however, anyone is still welcomed to audition for this part.

Age: 18/19

Bio: Not much is known about where Tasha is from, she seemed to just show up in the house one day. When anyone tries to question her origins, Joe will usually defend her, even though he's not exactly sure where she's from either. She's pretty similar to Joe in that she's laid back, however, she won't harbor a hatred toward someone, or a group of people (Unless they earned it of course.) When she's in a bad mood, she tends to take it out on those around her, so it's best to avoid her if she's having a bad day.

Voice: Feminine (Obviously) With a bit of a serious tone. Other than that, I have no idea how I want her to sound.

-Audition line-
-I find it really odd that two teenage boys would let some creepy old guy live in their basement...

-Slimez- Uncasted

Age: ??? (Irrelevant)

Bio: Slimez.. Is a slime monster. He also happens to be a big Anime fanatic (especially when it comes to Dragon Ball Z) and Tends to get into alot of Fights over this fact. Other than that, he's not exactly all that odd, even with being from another dimension and all. He Harbors an unknown power, that allows him to master any game he has played or has yet to play, as well as a few other things.

Voice: Slightly Nerdy Voice with a condescending Overtone.

-Audition line-
- Look, if you want a new DS, you can always just go down to TACO MAN'S MEAT EMPORIUM! OF MEAT.... Meaty-meat..... I'm sure he'll have at least one lying around, amongst all that Bacon.

NOTE: I am aware of Slimez Seeming like a ripoff of Slim From Bonus stage. But I can assure you, Slim Had no Influence on Slimez's Creation.

MINOR CHARACTERS

-Taco Man- Uncasted

Age: ??? (Irrelivant)

Bio: He runs one of the only shops in town, "TACO MAN'S MEAT EMPORIUM!". He always seems hyperactive, never being able to stay still for more than a few moments, and tends to talk ALOT. He usually blocks out what anyone is saying, and harasses them to buy some of his bacon.

Voice: Face Paced, high-pitched, Try and get as hyperactive as you can.

-Audition line-
- OH NOES!!! MAH HAIR ITH OF FIRE!!
(Oh no, My hair is on fire)

-Crazy Allen- Taken (By Purgatory Jones)

Age: 30? (Irrelevant)

Bio: After Dan goes off adventuring, somwhere... he returns home with this little dude. He enjoys Violence, and will act all mellow, but out of nowhere, he'll burst into a psychotic rage. He'll start babbling incoherently, and open fire on anything he sees. If he's with out a gun, he'll reach for the nearest blunt object.

Voice: Deep, smooth sounding for when he's acting "Normal"(His Normal voice should show no emotion, as if he was a mindless killing machine), and a mid-pitched, spastic voice for when he looses it.

-Audition lines-
-(In Smooth voice) Nothing is better than the taste of a victims blood..
-(In Spastic Voice) *Random babbling/laughter* (around five or six seconds long)

Accepted- Unless someone remarkably better auditions, you've got the role.

Decent- Not exactly what i was looking for, but will do fine. I'll choose between these if no one send me something better.

Average- It was Lacking something, but I could still use it. If there's nothing better I'll choose between these.

Rejected- Not even close to what i was looking for.

-Updates-

Update 1: I link to the Production Blog has been added near the top of the post. The cast list now contains some minor charactors (They may not be in every episode, but they're not extras) After looking over the clips grim productions sent me, his Joe voice would work nicely with a bit of tinkering, and has been changed to "Decent" After thinking it over a bit, Dan's voice may actually work better if it was mid-pitched, so it has been changed to that.

Your Pace was a bit to fast, but considering it was out of context from the script, it was very nice.

If no-one better auditions, consider yourself casted :)

Well, he's not exactally that crazy, he does speek with a bit of inteligence, but he likes to joke around and be stupid alot.

I also didn't want his voice to be incredibly high either, but a gir-ish voice could work for when he does somthing.. "Zany".

For dan and Joe- Rejected

Your voice Just doesn't fit them, sorry.

For Doctor- Decent

He sounded alot like your Joe, but it seemed to work well with him.

For Slimez- Rejected (First type) Average (Second Type)

They were both a bit iffy, but the second one sounded like it would work.

I'll be updating the Inital post and include some of the Minor Charactors (They're not in every episode, but they're not Extras)

I'll also provide a link to the production blog, and maybe some other stuff.

I believe that Rina has addressed this issue before, so I'll just go ahead and say it. Please try to keep audition criticism on a more private level. I'm sure that some users would prefer not to be criticized in public here and I can respect that feeling. Public criticisms should be saved for work that is publicly available like those in the demos and completed works sections. I'll ask that producers acknowledge recieved auditions with a simple "audition received from <name>" or bysimply keeping a running list of received auditions in your original post. Thank you.

Sorry about that, I was just trying to provide a reason as to why thier auditions were rated the way they were.

I'll refrain from doing that in the future, and simply edit my "Audition status" list.

If I need to point out anything specific, i'll do so by email.

I think I'll audition for this cartoon. I'll try out for the doctor. I've got a pretty good voice for him, but that's up to you to decide.

Hey killerraven, remember I PMed you about my 3 low pitch voices for the reaper character? Well, I hope my low pitch voices MATCH that reaper, because when I look at him and imagine what his voice sounds like, it makes me guess that his voice is low pitched. Here, I'll email you the voices, so you can choose which one matches perfectly for the reaper.

EDIT: Low pitch voice auditions for the reaper's dark form sent.
