So close. I'll admit I stick to noobish classes - Engie, Medic, Solly - but I'm not that noobish to main Pyro or Heavy.
<----- Mains heavy.

Lol, I'd rather be just good at medic than any other class. That's about the only class I can't handle. Staying alive (Ah, ha, ha, ha, staying alive, staying alive) is not one of my strong suits.
Btw, pyro is not a noob class, not since the end of pyromania.
Hehe, ain't easy being a big target, but it's always awesome if you have someone watching your back. *fist bumps*
Lol, thanks to the steam summer sale, my keys budget for the month is already used up. That other unusual's gonna have to wait just a wee bit longer. And now I have just a few more games that'll gather dust on that library.
Okay... prolly necro posting... but yeah, sort of exciting news.
New game mode, new weps, can't wait.
Head over here to get a slightly detailed glimpse of what all the hub-bub's about. For those who have been living in a cave and don't have the game yet, IT'S FREE! so my advice is give it a shot. Fun as all hell. *dusts off old icon of TF2*
Ah, first game jitters. Much more pressing on the interwebz where people are more inclined to be a bunch of arses than normal. Don't let them spoil your good time, more often than not, there are pretty decent teammates out there who happen to make sense.

So many people going, "rargh, why is it RED vs BLU robots!? it should be RED and BLU vs. gray!"
RED is defense... what are we doing in those 3 new maps? DEFENDING! BLU is offense... so perhaps we will get a future update involving the BLU team invading the robots bases, maybe even get into one of those gigantic tanks and destroy whatever is making all those robots... just a thought.
I made a group for the Mann Vs Machines on Steam, but I'm not adverting for it, but it is worth making one. Some people argue about sniper, and scouts lately. Saying how terrible they are. 1: No mini crits, even the scouts have sandman to bonk, and the snipers had jarate for mini crits for a few seconds. 2: Terrible aiming for who has a bow and arrow... To change the fate! 3: Scouts runs faster than other classes, saying other classes are better. 4: Getting kicked out for no reason, because you're either one of those classes, but the other 7 are useful for a reason.
People who plays it, like angry gamers who don't know crap about the game, because they are some people are really good at it, besides bitching about it. Don't like it, deal with it.

Skype ID: rentimh Looking for a role who is making a Minecraft parody, can you please scout me?
Ah, wonderful thread. It's a bit old, but then again, we can always call it Vintage. *shot*
I remember my first taste of Team Fortress, and it was like a wonderful piece of retro-style art. Norman Rockwell meets WW2 propaganda in a 50s-60s style bash of manliness and insanity.
Of course, when I actually started to play the game, I realized how much I was wrong.
Nothing to bash the game, and I admit I'm a *shudder* F2Player (technically not anymore since I bought some hats and other items), but I've found the art behind the game more appealing than the game itself. I never was one for FPSs and being thrown into chaotic violence. Strangely, my fave FPS would be the Half-Life series, what with its puzzle-solving and almost humanlike interaction with its world. Don't kill me.
This is only my general opinion, and I don't mean to step on anyone's toes (seeing as how there were plenty of people on this thread whose toes were pretty much trampled), but I love the art of TF2 more than the game. I've been trying to use this art style in my machinima for a couple of years now, with mixed results. I was generally inspired by those that made absurd and vulgar Garry's Mod videos featuring the TF2 characters as mutated surreal "freaks" and "monsters", but I'm going a little off-track here...
Confused artist and writer who for some odd reason loves the art of video games even though she couldn't play one to save her life! (OK, maybe a casual puzzle game, but nothing with a bunch of guns and stuff!)

I like the art, and I love the animation; this, we have in common.
The gameplay is simple. It is, after all, based on a game from 99. Besides the fact that a bunch of people take it seriously, maybe that's what detracts people from it.
I actually like it. As far as online FPS games are concerned, sometimes, people want simple.
Then again, I'm just getting into it.
Marshall Eriksen quote of the week: And on Barney's grave, it'll read: "Got slapped so hard by Marshall, he died."
It was actually the Meet the Team vids that got me to purchase the game way back in 09. Never gave the game a second look till then, but man when I saw the meet the demo, I had to see them all and then I had to buy the game, no questions asked. They just put so much character into each... character that it got me into the spirit of the game. Never let go of it since. Although, I think I may have to in a week. Gonna lose my high-speed internet and I'm not sure that my remaining connection can cut it. *sadness*
@apa: That's a given my main man. It is soooooooo fun.
