Hello one and all.
I'm John, and I've recently come into good fortune in my high school regarding my voice (Acting, singing, musical business). Since I've acquired a great deal of time, with summer and whatnot, I want to train/practice and put my acting and voice to use in a different environment than I'm used to.
Unfortunately, I'm brand new to the whole voice acting seen, and I have been reading up on what to do technically and such, but I'm not sure where to start, what to do, and things of that light. Any form of advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
-Sincerely, JcReans

Welcome! Singing and voice acting are a lot alike. If you can sing, then you have a great chance at voice acting. And if you can also act in school plays and things like that, you can definitely voice act!
I hear great feedback when it comes to voice acting and I'm like you- has never tried it 'til recently, but could sing and act.

That's actually very encouraging. Hopefully this endeavor turns out to be fruitful.
So where would be a good place to start? Look for an audition that seems interesting? Post a demo somewhere?

DEMOS. ARE GOOD TIMES.
I'd start there. It's good practice, if anything.

I say, start out by posting a demo on the demos thread. Give a little information behind it, upload new ones and post them there, ect; That way, you can link people to it and they'll read all about what you do and they'll hear it, too.

Putting a good demo together is definitely a good idea (even though I haven't done mine yet). If you are having a hard time with it then listen to other demos, read the comments and you'll get a good idea of what makes a good demo.
If you want to dive right in (which is what I did) then head to the Auditions section and start putting in auditions, you can always use clips from projects and auditions for your demo reel.

Variety may be good. And more fun.
